Digimon Season 1-5

Takato Matsuki

Picture
Takato is a cheerful, happy, carefree person, and loves Digimon, loving to play the Digimon card game and drawing Digimon he made up. One such Digimon became his partner; Guilmon. He became fast friends with Henry Wong and his partner, Terriermon. He had a crush on Jeri Katou throughout the series in which he openly admits. Takato is an only child. He comes from a family who runs their very own bakery. Takato is extremely imaginative and loves to be creative, so he likes drawing. One day he draws Guilmon on a notepad and his recently acquired D-Power scans the drawings to create his new partner, donning yellow goggles to show his Digimon tamer status as leader. At first he's not very good at battling (an example is the battle between Guilmon and Devidramon he was using cards that made things worse and the only reason that they won was his caring about Guilmon caused him to digivolve into Growlmon) but as time goes on he gets better at it (an example of this is the fight with IceDevimon an enemy even Kyubimon couldn't destroy but he'd gotten good enough at battling that he used the perfect combo on Guilmon that he was able to destroy IceDevimon easily without even digivolving to Growlmon). He seems to have a deep bond with Guilmon and when Guilmon was mortally wounded by the tiger Deva Mihiramon, he had some kind of dream where he and Growlmon talked where he said that he wasn't worthy to be a Tamer but if Growlmon still wanted to fight he'd help. This caused him to get a Blue Card and Growlmon digivolved to WarGrowlmon thanks to it and destroyed his foe. WarGrowlmon told him that he was worthy and thanked him for fighting with him. During the fight with Vikarlamon when everyone else had given up he stepped up and through his bond with WarGrowlmon shared his own energy and strength with him. Takato and WarGrowlmon's combined strength freed WarGrowlmon and destroyed Vikarlamon who before was too powerful to be beaten. The death of Leomon in episode 34 unbalances Takato's mind and in his blood-lust for Beelzemon, he forces WarGrowlmon to Digivolve to the Mega level. However, his dark emotions got the best of him, and twisted the evolution and WarGrowlmon darkdigivolved into Megidramon, as well as causing his Digivice to overload and shatter. In the following episode, realizing what he had done and what his partner meant to him, Takato reached the Guilmon inside Megidramon and caused him to revert back to Guilmon. He wanted to help Guilmon fight Beelzemon so badly at that point that they digivolved together (called Biomerging) to form Gallantmon and defeated Beelzemon. Takato received a new Digivice (with gold-colored accents) as a result.

Takato's imagination often gets the best of him, and he can occasionally let his feelings or his imagination cloud his judgment. He tends to act goofy, carefree and childish, but is capable of donning a more adult image when circumstances become serious.

Gigimon - Training Level

Picture
Gigimon is Guilmon's In-Training form. Gigimon appeared when Guilmon Degenerated to Gigimon after the D-Reaper was defeated and was forced to return to the Digital World.
Attack
Hot Bite: Bites the opponent with fiery teeth.

Guilmon - Rookie Level

Picture
Guilmon appears to be relatively small, but when standing erect, he is about 3 feet tall. Guilmon is a red dragon-like Reptile Digimon who carries the black Digital hazard symbol on his chest and has wing-like ears. Unlike most other Digimon, when Guilmon Digivolves to champion or ultimate, he retains much of his "rookie level's" personality. Guilmon is a virus-type Digimon, though his attitude most of the time could lead to thinking that he was a data or even a vaccine-type. His body is adorned with various signs of the net-hazard symbol, as Guilmon is believed to be able to corrupt a large amount of data. His virus typing could possibly explain his first mega form, Megidramon. Guilmon's fighting style shows his virus nature, as he fights with much more zeal than Agumon or other digimon protagonists. Guilmon has a very keen sense of smell and possess somewhat of a sixth sense to detect other digimon if around (though the concept of this ability may apply to all digimon, as most in the series could sense the presence of other digimon, if they were around).Guilmon is a curious and naive digimon, the youngest of the partner Digimon, with a pationate love for bread. He was created from Takato's imagination and brought to life by the Blue Card. At first, Guilmon had not been aware of the differences between humans and Digimon, calling his partner Tamer "Takatomon."

Guilmon is normally depicted as playful and friendly, proving to be quite popular with Takato's classmates for being a real live Digimon. He would refer to Takato as "Takatomon" at the beginning of the series. Despite his childlike nature, Guilmon is shown to have wisdom. For example, when Takato didn't want Guilmon to digivolve, in fear that Guilmon would no longer be the same, Guilmon pointed out that Takato has changed over time as well, but he is still the same person. Guilmon had one of the deepest relationships with his tamer out of the whole series, the two did many things together and conquered many hurdles. Guilmon is very loyal and protective of Takato and would do anything for him. When Guilmon digivolved to Megidramon, it was through their friendship that Takato managed to come back to his senses which allowed him to rescue Guilmon and bring him back, later allowing them to biomerge to Gallantmon to fight Beezlemon. Guilmon gets along very well with
Terriermon and Calumon. His first meeting with Renamon was as enemies, but Guilmon does later acknowledge Renamon's knowledge in combat situations. At first, Guilmon would either ignore or try to play with Impmon. Unlike previous seasons, Guilmon is not the first Digimon to digivolve into Champion level even though he belongs to the lead character; Terriermon and Renamon digivolved before him. He does digivolve first in both Ultimate and Mega levels however.
Attacks

Pyrosphere: Guilmon spits a concentrated blast of fire from his mouth.
Rock Breaker: Guilmon hits his opponent with a huge amount of force, almost like he is throwing a rock at his opponent.

Growlmon - Champion Level

Picture
Growlmon is the Digivolved form of Guilmon. Guilmon first Digivolved to Growlmon during his fight against Devidramon. In this new form, Growlmon fought a fierce battle against the dark dragon and ultimately destroyed him. As he is in this form, he is also able to retain the personaility as Guilmon. At the beginning of episode 9, Growlmon begins to cry as Takato stands before him afraid he will be eaten. But in the end, Takato realizes that he is the same lovable digimon if not a bit bigger. Afterwards, Growlmon discovered that he wasn't able to regress. Takato tried various methods to make Growlmon use up his "surplus" energy, but failed. Growlmon eventually did De-Digivolve naturally after observing a rainbow with Takato. Further along the series, after a few times of digivolution, Guilmon eventually learns how to de-digivolve.
Attacks
Pyro Blaster: Growlmon shoots a powerful fire ball from his mouth.
Dragon Slash: Growlmon charges the blades on his arms with energy and slashes his enemies.

WarGrowlmon - Ultimate Level

Picture
WarGrowlmon is Guilmon's Ultimate form. Since Mihiramon was so much stronger than other Digimon, Takato had to use a Blue Card. Swiping this card allowed Growlmon to Digivolve into WarGrowlmon, who was then able to defeat Mihiramon. Growlmon later digivolved again to defeat theDevas Indramon and Vikaralamon in the real world and to fight both Beelzemon and Zhuqiaomon in the Digital World. WarGrowlmon also fought against the D-Reaper when the tamers returned from the digital world, due to their temporary inability to bio-merge.

The first few times Growlmon Digivolved into WarGrowlmon, he and Takato were linked mentally. Takato felt pain every time WarGrowlmon was hit and declared the "Atomic Blaster" attack at the same time his Digimon was about to use the attack.
Attacks

Atomic Blaster: Fires a strong energy beam from the two cannons on his chest.
Radiation Blade: He powers up the blades on his arms and fires them at the enemy.
Trinity Burst: In this combined attack with Taomon and Rapidmon, WarGrowlmon turns into a crystal-like form, then a beam of energy, and then he combines with the other two (also in the form of energy beams at this point) into an energy arrow that resembles a Phoenix.

Megidramon - Mega Level (Dark Form)

Picture
Megidramon is a Mega Digimon. The death of Leomon at the hands of Beelzemon caused Takato to become enraged with blood lust, and this caused Guilmon to turn into Megidramon. He later became horrified by Guilmon's transformation (which also destroyed his D-Arc). In this form the full destructive power of the Digital Hazard is released, which begins to shake apart the Digital World (in other words, he could destroy the digital world merely by existing).

At first, Megidramon seemed to have the upper hand against Beelzemon and attempted to devour him. However, Beelzemon eventually won the battle by absorbing
Makuramon's data and beating Megidramon unconscious. Takato cried, knelt down by the unconscious Megidramon who de-digivolved to Guilmon and wished that they could fight Beelzemon together as it should be. This resulted in him Biomerging with Guilmon to become Gallantmon, who then defeated but chose to spare Beelzemon. Takato then received a golden D-Power with digicode written around the circular screen afterwards, which could now be used to Biomerge Digivolve with Guilmon to become Gallantmon.

Attacks
Meggiddo Flame
Hell Howling

Gallantmon - Mega Level (True Form) (Bio-Fusion Part1)

Picture
Picture
Gallantmon is the true Mega form of Guilmon. Gallantmon was the first Biomerged Digimon to appear. Gallantmon is armed with the holy lance Gram and the shield Aegis. Gallantmon first appeared when Takato Biomerged with Guilmon in order to fight Beelzemon. In this new form, Gallantmon was able to defeat Beelzemon. Gallantmon's power was later proven to be a major asset in the battle against the D-Reaper. Gallantmon played a key role in confronting the D-Reaper and in obtaining the ARMS "Grani" as his mode of transportation.
Attacks
Lightning Joust: Gallantmon shoots out energy at the opponent from his Gram Lance.
Shield of the Just: Gallantmon fires an energy beam from his Aegis Shield.
Dragon Driver: A joint attack with Grani - the two drive themselves right into their opponent.
Yuggoth Blaster: A joint attack with Grani - a blue tri-bolo energy attack that shoots from Grani's mouth.
Lightning Charge: Gallantmon holds up his lance and a giant surge of lightning attack all things around him good and evil.

Grani

Picture
Zero Artificial Monster Grani (Zero ARMS Grani) is a special type of Digimon who also serves as a transport vehicle. It was named after Sigurd's horse from Norse mythology. Grani mainly served as a "steed" for Gallantmon to ride on, and had Mitsuo Yamaki's Yuggoth Program installed. Grani was originally a rudimentary digital lifeform, but soon evolved into a sentient Digimon. It was created by the 'Monster Maker' team with the aid of Hypnos as an 'ark' to bring the children home from the Digital World. During this time, Grani developed a bond with Guilmon and Guilmon's Tamer, Takato Matsuki. Later the ark was modified and brought to the Real World by Henry Wong's D-Power, and Gallantmon gives it life. Its destruction gave Gallantmon the power to transform into "Gallantmon Crimson Mode" for the final battle against the D-ReaperGrani also saved Beelzemon after he was attacked by the D-Reaper.

Gallantmon - Mega Level (Crimson From) (Bio-Fusion Part 2)

Picture
Gallantmon Crimson Mode is the mode-changed form of Gallantmon. Gallantmon Crimson Mode appeared towards the end of Digimon Tamers. After Gallantmon had found himself overwhelmed in his battle against the D-Reaper, Grani, in a final act, gave the last of his power to Gallantmon triggering a mode change. In this form, Gallantmon's armor is coated with crimson metallic and his cape is replaced by angelic wings. As his arsenal, Gallantmon Crimson Mode is armed with the holy sword Blutgang and the celestial spear Gungnir. With this newfound power, Gallantmon Crimson Mode was able to defeat the D-Reaper's Agent-01. Gallantmon assumes this form again during the fight against the Parasimon in which he uses his Crimson Light attack to destroy all of the Parasimonin one shot.
Attacks
Crimson Light: Gallantmon Crimson Mode releases every ounce of his power, casting his enemies into oblivion.
