Digimon Season 1-5

Commander Richard Sampson

Picture
Commander Richard Sampson is Marcus DamonThomas NorsteinYoshi FujiedaKeenan Crier, Miki Kurosaki, and Megumi Shirakawa's superior officer, responsible for giving them orders and supervising all operations from the base. More often than not, his purpose was to delegate to his subordinates from the command center. However, when Akihiro Kurata's machinations led to his team being dissolved, he was arrested. Presumably broken out by his digimon partner, Kudamon, he rejoined his team. When they resolved to try and enter the Digital World, Sampson and Kudamon were forced to remain behind, and hold off the three mysterious beings known as Kouki, Ivan, and Nanami, who had the power to turn into Digimon. Sampson and Kudamon battled them, and were last seen in an explosion. The two later return in Episode 41, with Kudamon being able to Digivolve into Sleipmon.

Before the start of the series, Sampson was a private investigator who worked with Hiroshi Yushima. After investigating multiple missing persons cases, they came to learn that the disappearances were the result of the opening of numerous gates that led to the strange realm known as the Digital World. Sampson and Yushima joined an expedition into the Digital World, where they came to know Marcus's father, Suguru. However, they were forced to return to the Human World without him. After this, Suguru somehow managed to send Sampson and Yushima's partners, Kudamon and Kamemon, as well as the data for the
Digivice to the human world. Sampson then became the Captain of the Japanese branch of DATS.

Kudamon - Rookie Level

Picture
Kudamon is a calm and collected sort who carries out precise assessments of things and can progress through battle with superiority and smugness. It is said that he accumulates holy power in his left earring every day, intending to use the energy to digivolve eventually. Kudamon generally resembles a white ferret. He has small forelimbs, golden markings, and a tail with a small Holy Cartridge at the end of it. His collar was a Power Ring. This Kudamon, different from the original design in the V-Pet, is the partner of Commander Sampson. He serves as Sampson's advisor in matters relating the Digimon, and assists in the running of DATS. In times of danger Kudamon can Digivolve into Reppamon and Chirinmon. It was later revealed that Kudamon is actually the Royal Knight Sleipmon, sent by Yggdrasil to keep an eye on the humans while undercover. However, as time passed, Kudamon grew fond of the humans and therefore could not obey Yggdrasil's orders to exterminate them. He exposed his identity to Gallantmon and fought him to protect the DATS crew, their battle ending in a draw and leaving their fates unknown when they disappeared in Sleipmon's attack. In episode 46, at the end, Gallantmon and Sleipmon are seen falling into a what seems like a bottomless trench. In episode 47, Gallantmon returns holding an unconscious Kudamon, explaining that Sleipmon told him why he sided with the humans and set him free. Kudamon reunites with Sampson in episode 48, but the meeting is short as he decides to return to the Digital World with the other Digimon.

Kentaursmon is forced to sacrifice himself to defeat Gallantmon, and hence protect the DATS members and the Human World. Kentaurusmon has a Centaur-like appearance.
