Digimon Season 1-5

Ken Ichijouji

Picture
As a young child, Ken always felt that he was passed over by his parents in favor of his older brother Sam, a child prodigy. Ken developed a hatred towards Sam as a result. Ken was one of the kids who helped the DigiDestined in their battle with Diaboromon. Months later, while he was with Sam in his room, a Digivice came out of Sam’s computer. It was meant for Ken but neither of them knew this, Sam picked it up and put it in his drawer, telling Ken not to touch the drawer and vowing to find out what it was. Ken, in childish curiosity, touched the Digivice and was pulled through Sam's computer into the Digital World. It was there that he met Wormmon and helped Ryo in fighting Millenniummon. However, when Millenniummon was defeated, he forced out pieces of his data in the form of Dark Spores. Ken pushed Ryo out of the way and one of the Spores struck him, sinking inside his neck. Wormmon and Ryo tended to the boy for three weeks until he was well enough to return to the Real World, where he found that it was the same day as he had left; this is likely due to Millenniummon's ability to warp time and space. Sam scolded Ken for breaking his trust and touching the Digivice and Ken again found himself angrily wishing that Sam would just disappear. Later, Sam died after being hit by a car. Some time after that, Ken felt guilty for making a wish that came true. Then, an e-mail from a mysterious figure (revealed later to be Yukio Oikawa) told him to use the Digivice to escape the guilt. Ken did this and was transported to the Dark Ocean. His Digivice turned into a dark D-3 Digivice and Ken adopted several aspects of Sam. Since then, he became a boy genius, and excelled at everything that was either sport or intellect-related such as chess and judo. He even became star player of the Tamachi Soccer team in which he holds a record for most goals in a league season with forty five. However, as the Spore continued its work, Ken became apathetic towards society, viewing everyone around him as pathetic insects, beneath his notice. And thus he set his sights on the world which could challenge him.

Ken returned to the Digital World and, through the subtle, unseen manipulations of Arukenimon, assumed the mantle of the Digimon Emperor and took over the Digimon using Dark Rings with which he enslaved a number of Digimon, similar to the Black Gears that Devimon used on the Digimon in File Island. The Dark Rings gave each Digimon bright red eyes and made them completely obedient to him. Ken often used them as sport, such as having two of them fight in a Colosseum-style arena, and kept them locked in a sophisticated system of cages. Ken made his proper introduction (as himself) during a newscast about how he won a National Computer Programming Contest with a machine that can brush people's teeth for them. The news also mentioned many of Ken's previous accomplishments as well, such as chess, Donkey Madness, soccer, and balancing the worlds largest checkbook. In the original Japanese version, it was said if Ken ever moved to the United States, he would be able to go to any college due to his intellect, despite only being in Fifth Grade. As the Emperor, Ken had many conflicts with the new DigiDestined as he planned to rule the Digital World with an iron fist. Ken's dark control spires prevented the Digimon from being able to naturally evolve, but DavisCody, and Yolei's Digimon were able to "Armor Digivolve" to defeat his Dark Ring-enslaved Digimon. During one battle, they discovered that the Control Spires controlled the enslaved digimon and also began destroying them as well. Finally, during a soccer game in the real world, Davis injured Ken's right ankle in an attempt to block him from scoring a goal. During their next confrontation in the Digital World, Davis noticed the cut and Ken revealed himself. As a result, he abandoned the Real World to live in the Digital World and assumed the Emperor identity permanently. During that time, he created Dark Spirals to control Ultimate Level Digimon as well as some Champion Level Digimon like Tai's Agumon (who Ken digivolved into SkullGreymon and then MetalGreymon). His parents, with no knowledge of where he had gone, were panicked and made various televised pleas to try and find Ken. When his creation, Kimeramon, turned against him and was subsequently defeated by Magnamon with the help of Wormmon in episode 21, Ken couldn’t believe that he had lost everything. He proclaimed he would reset the Digital World, thinking it was just a computer program. When the DigiDestined explained to him that it was a real place and that Digimon were living creatures, Ken, upon remembering seeing their Digimon at their soccer game, breaks down, realizing the cruelty he had inflicted and Wormmon's death sparked the sadness he had for Sam's death. Numbly, Ken staggered off to return home. Ken slept for days, in a pseudo-coma, where memories of his brother, the Digivice and his first trip to the Digital World returned in his mind. When he awoke, he had amnesia and could not recognize his parents. He traveled to the Digital World where, at Primary Village, he was reunited with Leafmon, the baby form of Wormmon. Since then, Ken vowed to atone for the treacherous deeds he committed as the emperor. As he did, he learned that he was used by Arukenimon when she took all data relating to the Control Spires from the boy's computer. With Stingmon (Wormmon's Champion form), he began the daunting task of destroying the Control Spires that he erected.

At first, upon learning that Ken was back and doing good, Davis wanted to ask Ken to join the team, but none of the other DigiDestined liked the idea, particularly Cody. They were convinced that he was still evil when Ken ordered Stingmon to destroy
Thundermon in Primary Village. The DigiDestined believed that Thundermon was a real Digimon, but he was actually created from a Control Spire by Arukenimon. Once the DigiDestined learned that in the next battle, they became more accepting. Ken officially became a member of the team a little after ExVeemon and Stingmon DNA Digivolved (Jogress Evolve) to Paildramon to defeat another of Arukenimon's creations. Despite joining the team, Ken felt uncomfortable around the others, particularly Cody, who still strongly disliked him for what he did. However, Ken helped out in all the battles against Arukenimon, Mummymon and BlackWarGreymon. When Digimon began to appear on Christmas Day, Ken and Wormmon went to Mexico City with Matt and Gabumon to help Rosa and Gotsumon round up the wild Digimon there. Later that night, when Ken got home, he had a dream of his first time in the Digital World and the Dark Spore. The next day, Daemon and his Daemon Corps began to appear in Tokyo, wreaking havoc in search of Ken and the Dark Spore. But Arukenimon managed to convince Ken to come with her, using the children she 'kidnapped' to motivate him. Once inside the truck, Ken met Oikawa the man who Ken had met at his brother Sam's funeral years ago, who revealed the nature of Dark Spore. Oikawa bound Ken's hands behind him with his scarf and scanned the spore's data from his neck. Oikawa copied its data into the other children, who had all been taken willingly. Davis and Wormmon ambushed the truck when Daemon attacked and rescued Ken. After the events that result with Daemon's banishment & Oikawa's escape, Ken finally introduced his stunned parents to Wormmon and the following day, now aware of what was going on, Ken's father was happy to help the children look for Oikawa. By December 30, Ken and the other DigiDestined (with Matt, Izzy and Joe) were standing watch at Heighton View Terrace, waiting for the Dark Spore kids to arrive. When they were all congregated there, Oikawa arrived and began the process that used the Spores to convert the children's energies into an energy he could use to enter the Digital World. Ken demanded to know why he had been chosen and what the Control Spires were for. Oikawa happily explained and opened the portal. The 02 DigiDestined followed him, only to discover that they weren't in the Digital World at all but some bizarre other dimension. This is when the ghost of Myotismon, an enemy of the former Digidestined in Season 1, revealed that he was behind all the events of season 2. He explained how he entered Oikawa's body not long after his defeat and used Oikawa to help him in his revenge. He also abandoned Oikawa’s body and used the power of the Spores to Digivolve into MaloMyotismon, his strongest Mega form. The villain subjected the kids to illusions of their greatest desires. For Ken, on some subconscious level, his desire was to see himself punished for what he did as the Digimon Emperor and to have his brother back. An illusion of Sam offers Ken a place where he can be forgiven and live together with him. Wormmon, however, reveals that it is an illusion. Realizing that he cannot change the past but can help the future and angry at having been manipulated yet again, Ken released his guilt, crying out that he wasn't the Emperor any more and that he had been punished enough. And with that, he helped in the final battle against MaloMyotismon.

Wormmon's Digivolution

Leafmon - Fresh Level

Picture
Leafmon is the fresh form of Wormmon. Leafmon first appears in Digimon Adventure 02 episode 23, when Ken found him in Primary Village. He also appeared when Paildramon loses so much power that Wormmon and Veemon are no longer able to maintain their Rookie forms, though this is rectified once digivolving into Imperialdramon via Azulongmon's cores allowing him to assume his rookie form regardless of how high the evolution and energy loss. Leafmon is small and green, and has a long tail resembling a leaf. It has two small ears on its round head and a pink pacifier. Like most baby level Digimon, Leafmon has small black eyes and two round pink cheeks under its eyes. Once Ken was freed from the evil that overtook him as the Digimon Emperor, Wormmon returned to Ken in this form and subsequently digivolved back into Minomon.
Attack
Bubble Blow: Fires bubbles from its mouth.

Minomon - Training Level

Picture
Minomon is Wormmon's In-Training form. Minomon sometimes appears when Wormmon is forced to de-digivolve after a particularly difficult battle, or if he regresses to Leafmon and digivolves back again in the real world.
Attack
Pincone Attack: An attack that involves shooting pine cone projectiles at its enemies.

Wormmon - Rookie Level

Picture
Wormmon is a small green worm-like creature. Like a real insect, Wormmon possesses the ability to adhere to surfaces and is also able to generate silk from its mouth. Wormmon is a main character in Digimon Adventure 02, and also appears in the movie Diablomon Strikes Back. Wormmon's story begun when a young Ken Ichijouji was sucked into the Digital World for the first time via his brother's computer. Ken, along with Ryo Akiyama, traveled together with their Digimon through the Digital World desert, where they battled and defeated Millenniummon. With its death, Millenniummon released the Dark Spores, one of which burrowed inside Ken's neck. The next time Wormmon met Ken, Ken had assumed the guise of the Digimon Emperor. Although Ken, as the Digimon Emperor, treated Wormmon cruelly; Wormmon still chose to stand by him out of friendship and loyalty. However, when Kimeramon was finally created and went on a swathe of destruction across the Digital World, Wormmon finally decided to make a final attempt to save Ken by disobeying him. Wormmon led Davis and Veemon to the Digi-Egg of Miracles, which turned Veemon into Magnamon. Ken still refusing to give up and with Magnamon losing, Wormmon took drastic measures and surrendered all its life force to Magnamon. This gave Magnamon enough power to kill Kimeramon, but it cost Wormmon its life. This last noble act, however, was enough to finally make Ken realize his evil doings and resign from them. Wormmon was reborn as a Digi-Egg in Primary Village and reunited with his partner Ken. Ken then vowed to fix the damage he had caused, but discovered that he was only being used by Arukenimon to establish the Control Spires. To fight the monsters created from the towers, Wormmon achieved the power to Digivolve to his champion form - Stingmon. The two became official members of the team when Stingmon merged with ExVeemon to form Paildramon. With Azulongmon's power, Paildramon was later able to Digivolve further into Imperialdramon. Wormmon shares another DNA digivolution with Veemon, Dinobeemon, whose body is dominated by Stingmon. This form is not shown in the series. He also has an armor digivolution with the Digiegg of Kindness, Puchieemon, which is only seen in the CD drama.

At first, Stingmon and Ken worked alone to destroy these Digimon and the Control Spires, but eventually they teamed up with the other DigiDestined. Stingmon made his first appearance when one of the Control Spire Digimon, Thundermon, attacked Primary Village.

Paildramon - Ultimate Level (DNA-Fusion Part 1)

Picture
Paildramon is an Ultimate level digimon who is the DNA Digivolved form of ExVeemon and Stingmon, combining the features and attributes of a Dragon type Digimon with that of an Devi-Insectoid type. Some of his recognizable parts are ExVeemon's wings, lower legs, and tail; and Stingmon's hands and body.
Veemon and Wormmon are the first of the second generation DigiDestined Digimon to achieve DNA Digivolution in episode 26 united we stand. When Ken's former base threatened to explode, Arukenimon attempted to stop the DigiDestined with an Okuwamon she had created. Ken had been willing to throw away his life to undo the damage he caused, but Davis managed to convince him to get over what he did in the past and keep living. At that instant, when the hearts of Davis and Ken were beating as one, ExVeemon and Stingmon were able to merge and form Paildramon. Paildramon was strong enough to destroy Okuwamon and stop the detonation of Ken's base. For a while, Paildramon was the only ultimate digimon on the DigiDestined's team, and was a valuable ally in their fight against ArukenimonMummymon, and later BlackWarGreymon.
Attacks
Desperado Blaster: Fires energy bullets from the weapons on his hips.
Cable Catcher: Fires off his claws and binds his enemy like wires.
Sting Strike: Attacks with the spikes on his arms.

Imperialdramon - Mega Level (Dragon Form) (DNA-Fusion Part 2)

Picture
Imperialdramon is a mega level Digimon who is the digivolved form of Paildramon. In Episode 39 of the anime Digimon Adventure 02Paildramon was given the power from one of Azulongmon's DigiCores. This allowed him to Digivolve to the mega level: Imperialdramon. The radiating power from the evolution digivolved Poromon and Upamon to their rookie levels and restored the original digimon partners' ability to digivolve to their ultimate and (in the cases of Agumon and Gabumon) mega levels. In Episode 40 Imperialdramon transported the DigiDestined around the world so they could help the DigiDestined of other countries round up renegade digimon that had appeared on Earth. In Episode 42 Imperialdramon arrives just in time to help Sora and Yolei battle a herd of Mammothmon in Russia.
Attack
Positron Laser: Fires a huge blast of positron energy from the same-name cannon on his back, causing major disaster. It only functions as a "normal" hyperlaser cannon in the Real World, it is his signature move.

Imperialdramon - Mega Level (Fighter Form) (DNA-Fusion Part 3)

Picture
Imperialdramon Fighter Mode is an alternate form of Imperialdramon. The Fighter Mode gives Imperialdramon a more human shape. It is also said that his fighting power is tripled. This form was first achieved in Episode 43 of Digimon Adventure 02. When the evil Digimon Daemon and its Daemon Corps appeared, Imperialdramon was frozen by SkullSatamon's attack shortly into digivolution, corrupting its data. To free Imperialdramon, the Digimon of the older DigiDestined De-Digivolved from their Ultimate forms and gave their remaining power (the extra power given by Azulongmon's Digi-Core) to Imperialdramon, triggering the Mode Change. Imperialdramon Fighter Mode subsequently slew SkullSatamon, participated in battle against Daemon and BlackWarGreymon (sealing Daemon in the Dark Ocean but lost to BlackWarGreymon, who was more powerful. BlackWarGreymon made Imperialdramon and Wargreymon de-digivolve), and ultimately destroyed MaloMyotismon. In Digimon movie 4, he appears to fight against Armageddemon after being blasted with the missiles launched from his back, but is unable to defeat him even with the Giga Crusher until Omnimon donates his energy and allows Imperialdramon to Digivolve into Paladin Mode.
Attacks
Positron Laser: Fires a huge blast of positron energy from the same-name cannon now on his right arm, causing a major disaster. It only functions as a "normal" hyperlaser cannon in the Real World, however.

Splendor Blade: Imperialdramon slashes at his enemies with blades of energy made within the "spikes" on his arm armor.
Giga Crusher: Transforms the Positron Laser on his arm into a bigger form held by both arms which fires a powerful blast of dark matter on his enemy. Alternatively, by Movie 4, he can fire the same attack when the dragon mouth on his chest opens up with the PL protruding from it to fire a white spherical version, inflicting immense damage all across.

Imperialdramon - Mega Level (Paladin Form) (Sword-Fusion Part 4)

Picture
Imperialdramon Paladin Mode is an even more powerful alternate form of Imperialdramon, achieved after Omnimon gave Imperialdramon Fighter Mode his power in Digimon Movie 4. Imperialdramon Paladin Mode appears in the Digimon movie Diaboromon Strikes Back. Imperialdramon Fighter Mode had been fighting Armageddemon using his Giga Crusher attack. However, it was not strong enough, and ended up injured in Armageddemon's counter-attack. Omnimon, who had already been badly injured and nearly torn apart by Armageddemon's laser whips, gave his remaining energy to Imperialdramon. Omnimon's arms separated from his main body to become Agumon and Gabumon again, while his main body became the Omni Sword. Imperialdramon Fighter Mode, wielding this sword, turned into Imperialdramon Paladin Mode and defeated Armageddemon. He did this by charging at Armageddemon with his omni sword. He then impaled Armageddemon's nose hole, releasing a sonic explosion that tears Armageddemon into millions of Kuramon that are absorbed by the people's cell phones, then put into the Omni Sword.
Attack
Omni Sword: Strikes his opponents with the Omega Blade. The Blade may also contain data of human positive emotions for an extra ability known as the Initialize.
